BAOR 1973 Minefield Record Form W4017
An original BAOR ( British Army of the Rhine) Royal Engineers Minefield Record form. These were completed whenever and wherever a minefield was to be laid and activated during the Cold War, in West Germany. Recording minefield co-ordinates, grid squares , forward edge and importantly rear edge to Friendly Forces. Usually tactical minefields are laid to cover gaps in defences, to enhance defensive positions and are covered by defensive fire to make them formidable obstacles.
An interesting item of Cold War history. Army Form W4017. When completed and signed by the Officer responsible for the construction of the minefield, a legally binding document as to the location of Friendly Forces minefields. A rare item.
