WW2 Eastern Peoples Award Silver and Swords:
In the hope of liberating their country from Communism, many thousands of former Soviet citizens volunteered to join German sponsored military formations.
On 14th July 1942, a special decoration was created for their benefit. Although they were entitled to German War Decorations and badges.
This version is with swords for bravery and an additional version without swords was for non-combative merit. The mounting pin is intact and firmly fitted to the rear of the ribbon.

It is in two classes subdivided into five grades
1st Class Gilt, 1st Class Silver, then all 2nd Class in Gilt, Silver, Bronze.
The 2nd Class represented here is a 40mm which in Silver from a green ribbon with two white stripes.
