WW1 Princess Mary Christmas fund 1914 gift tin
An original WW1 Princess Mary Christmas fund 1914 gift tin with the original Christmas card. What is particularly nice about this tin, its been there – to the Trenches and back. Its been in the soldiers Great Coat pocket and used for tobacco, hence the wear.
The tin is made of brass and hinges are in good condition, the head relief, edge decoration and Christmas 1914 show some age.
Signs of aging patina, the lid opens and closes ok.
These tins were given out to the British troops for Christmas 1914, the tins would have contained Cigarettes, Tobacco, Christmas card, Small photo of Princess Mary and a Bullet pencil although some had different contents
